POP Series 1

POP Series 1 is a special 17-card mini-set from the EX era, released through the Pokémon Organized Play programme and built around Hoenn stars and league promo cards. The highlights of the set are two Pokémon-ex, Armaldo ex and Tyranitar ex, backed by recognisable holo rares such as Blaziken, Metagross, Rayquaza, Sceptile and Swampert. It is a small set without new mechanics like the ex of later eras, but its condensed list and tournament and promo pedigree give it a distinct collectible character.
