Vending Machine Series 2 (Red) is a Japanese mini-edition from the early Pokémon TCG era, released in 1998 as tear-off sheets from vending machines, themed around Kanto locations with cards matched to specific places. The set has 36 cards and stands out for its shiny, glossy finish instead of the standard matte. Among the most characteristic cards are Moltres, Zapdos, Aerodactyl, Lapras, Ditto and Raichu, and the format itself, without ex or modern rarities, relies on a pure, vintage first-generation line-up.
