The Pokémon 30th anniversary kicks off in September
30th Celebration is scheduled for release on September 16, 2026. Unlike standard sets, it is a special set, which means booster packs will not be sold individually. The cards can only be obtained by buying dedicated products from the 30th Celebration line.
This model is familiar from earlier anniversary expansions such as Celebrations in 2021, but this time the scale is much larger. The releases are split into as many as five waves, arriving between September and December.
Unusual booster packs and 30 different Pikachu
One of the biggest changes is the booster packs themselves.
Each pack will contain 5 holographic cards, one holographic Basic Energy card and a Pokémon TCG Live code. That is noticeably fewer cards than in standard sets, but all of them will be foil.
The most exciting part is the set's central theme: 30 different Pikachu cards, created specially for the brand's 30th anniversary. One of them will be in every booster pack, and everything suggests these cards will become some of the most sought-after in the entire set.
Classic Collection returns in a new form
One of the biggest surprises is the debut of the Classic Collection.
For the first time in the history of the English Pokémon TCG, special three-card Classic Collection booster packs will appear. It has been officially confirmed that they will be included in both Ultra-Premium Collections, but there are many signs that cards from this collection may also turn up as very rare pulls in regular booster packs. The special packs would then simply guarantee getting them when buying a UPC.
If these assumptions are confirmed, the Classic Collection could become one of the most important parts of the whole anniversary set. If, however, the cards remain exclusive to the Ultra-Premium Collection, their prices on the secondary market could spiral out of control very quickly.
September 2026: the anniversary begins (September 16)
The first release wave is the broadest part of the entire line. On this day most of the core products will hit stores, from the Elite Trainer Box to small sets with single promos.
Elite Trainer Box
The classic entry point into any new set. Inside you'll find 9 30th Celebration booster packs, an illustration rare style Nidorina promo, 16 holographic Basic Energy cards and a full set of game accessories. A Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box version will also be sold, which by all indications should contain more booster packs and two Nidorina promo cards, one with the Pokémon Center stamp and one without.
Poster Collection
A set for fans of the legendary birds of Kanto. It contains 3 booster packs, three promo cards featuring Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, and a full-size, double-sided poster showcasing cards from the set.
Tech Sticker Collection
An unusual product combining cards with stickers for a laptop or tablet. Inside are 3 booster packs, a foil promo card of Alolan Exeggutor or Lucario and a matching sticker sheet.
Pokémon ex Box
A set with 4 booster packs, a Sylveon ex or Greninja ex promo card and a matching oversize card.
Pokémon ex Tin
Tins featuring Greninja ex or Sylveon ex, containing 4 booster packs and a promo card. In practice this is a tin version of the Pokémon ex Boxes, with the same number of booster packs and the same promo cards.
Booster Bundle
The simplest way to open the set: 6 booster packs with no extra accessories. For a set where booster packs can't be bought individually, this is one of the most cost-effective ways to get just the packs.
Smaller sets: 2-Pack Blister and Knock Out Collection
For those looking for a cheaper way into the set, there are the 2-Pack Blister and the Knock Out Collection. Both products have identical contents: 2 booster packs, a foil Eevee promo card and a commemorative coin.
October 2026: Mini Tins and Binder Collection
Day & Night Mini Tins (release October 2)
Each tin contains 2 booster packs, a sticker sheet and an art card matching its artwork. The real treat of this series, though, is the artwork itself: the Unown Pokémon on the tin designs spell out the word ANNIVERSARY when the tins are placed side by side. For those buying the whole lot, a full Mini Tin Display will be available.
Binder Collection (release October 2)
A 9-pocket-per-page binder bundled with 5 30th Celebration booster packs. A practical choice for anyone who plans to complete the anniversary set anyway.
Late October: Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks (October 30)
The third wave is a treat for players and collectors alike: the Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks. Each fully holographic 60-card deck is led by Espeon ex or Umbreon ex and includes a deck box, a coin and a playmat. The decks will also come with illustration rare style Victini or Zeraora cards, following the day and night theme.
November 2026: premium products (November 6)
November is shaping up to be the hottest month for collectors. One important detail is worth noting: November 6 is also the release date of the Delta Reign set. Two big releases landing on the same day means both wallets and product availability will be put to a serious test.
Ultra-Premium Collection: Day (Espeon ex) and Night (Umbreon ex)
The most prestigious products in the entire line. The Day version pairs Pikachu ex with Espeon ex, and Night pairs Pikachu ex with Umbreon ex. Each set includes a themed playmat, sleeves, a deck box and other accessories, and above all a whopping 29 30th Celebration booster packs plus an exclusive three-card Classic Collection booster pack. Given the popularity of the Eeveelutions, these can be expected to be among the hardest products to get all year.
Ditto Premium Collection
One of the most interestingly designed products of the anniversary. The set contains a colorful acrylic display stand, a Ditto promo card and 8 booster packs. The unusual display format means the product is already attracting a lot of interest from collectors.
Mew and Mewtwo Figure Collections
Two sets with sculpted figures of Mew or Mewtwo. Besides the figure, inside you'll find a foil promo card, an oversize card and 5 30th Celebration booster packs.
What caught the community's attention the most?
Early reactions from collectors show that the biggest excitement surrounds the Ultra-Premium Collections with Espeon and Umbreon. Eeveelutions have been among the hottest collecting themes in the Pokémon TCG for years, so many fans already expect these to be some of the hardest products to get all year.
The Ditto Premium Collection is also drawing a lot of interest, standing out with its unusual acrylic display stand.
Another charming detail of the anniversary set is the Nidorina promo card included in the Elite Trainer Box. It's not a random choice: Nidorina is number 30 in the Pokédex, which makes it a perfect fit for the 30th anniversary theme. It's a nice nod to less obvious Pokémon that rarely get their moment in the spotlight.
Which products are worth watching?
For most collectors, the best starting choice will be the Elite Trainer Box, which lets you get into the new set without a very large outlay, though it's worth remembering that 9 booster packs of 5 cards each is less content than in classic ETBs.
Those focused on completing the set will probably be interested in the Booster Bundle and the Binder Collection, while players should take a look at the Battle Decks, which combine a ready-to-play deck with a collectible card.
The most prestigious products in the entire line are without doubt the Ultra-Premium Collections, especially if the Classic Collection booster pack turns out to be exclusive to this product. If the history of anniversary sets teaches us anything, it's that premium products most often reach the highest prices on the secondary market.

Summary
30th Celebration is shaping up to be by far the biggest collecting event in the Pokémon TCG in 2026. The set itself matters, but this time just as much emphasis has been placed on collector products, limited accessories and anniversary releases created specially for the Pokémon brand's 30th anniversary.
If The Pokémon Company maintains adequate product availability, 30th Celebration has a chance to become one of the most memorable anniversary sets since Celebrations in 2021. On the other hand, many collectors already fear that demand could significantly exceed supply, especially for the Ultra-Premium Collections and Eeveelution-themed products, and the November releases coinciding with the Delta Reign set only add to the excitement.
